According to a news release, Logan's Restaurant has file for bankruptcy this week and will be closing 18 underperforming restaurants.

According to the statement released on Monday, the locations of the closing restaurants will be announced in the next few days:

"The company will be closing 18 underperforming restaurants as part of the overall efforts to improve the company’s financial performance. A plan is in place to assist employees in closing restaurants, reassigning employees to other Logan’s restaurants and providing them with outplacement services and assistance with applying for jobs."

The company's CEO Sam Borgese will be stepping down as well. The company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection after a tough first half of 2016. The restaurant chain saw sales fall by 4%. Logan's Restaurant chain has about 250 restaurants in the U.S. with over 18,000 employees and over a 1,000 full-time employees.

No word if the El Paso location will be one of the 18 that will close.
