It was pretty old but, still, pretty dangerous and totally capable of going off.

A World War I era hand grenade was found in the backyard of a home in east El Paso by a maintenance crew. A cleaning crew sent out by the city of El Paso to clear up an overgrown yard found the grenade which leads me to ask, how freakin' overgrown was this yard? The home's located on Larry Hinson Place, just off Trawood, near Tierra Del Sol Elementary School.

An explosive ordinance disposal team from Fort Bliss was called and they were able to take the grenade away to be safely disposed of. We're talking about something that could be over 100 years old. Can you imagine how unstable that thing was?

No wonder the city gets upset and starts writing citations when your weeds get too high!
