On Friday afternoon Little Caesars Pizza tweeted that if a #16 seed beats a #1 on Friday night they would give everyone in the U.S. a free lunch combo. You can check out the tweet here. This must have seemed like a safe bet for Little Caesars seeing as how a 16 had NEVER beaten a number 1 in the history of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament.

Fast forward a few hours and the University of Maryland-Baltimore County shocked the number one seeded Virginia. In fact, UMBC (who I’d never even heard of before this) annihilated Virginia by a score of 74-54. This is the biggest upset in tournament history BY FAR.

So what does that mean for you? Well, if you read the fine print in the tweet, you have a window between 11:30 A.M. and 1 P.M. on Monday, April 2nd where you can get a free personal size pizza and a bottle of soda. But only at participating Little Caesars so who knows how many stores that is? Is it most of them? Hardly any?

Also, limiting it to a 90 minute window seems to be a built in guarantee that they won’t have to give away TOO many pizzas.
