Let's face it, our city is known for putting up strange looking art like the lighted wind turbines on Airway Blvd. They were installed back in 2014 and have received some criticism, even though they are used to encourage people to go green. The lighted wind turbines generate electricity and power everything at that intersection. Pretty cool to me.

Another art installation used to bring attention to conservation issues, is the World's Largest Duck named 'Mama Duck.' The large rubber duckie serves as 'an inspiration to enjoy the world’s waterfronts.' Since we are all encouraged to conserve water in the desert southwest, I think it would be great if El Paso Water Utilities and people down at the county work together so we can bring 'Mama Duck' to Ascarate Park.

The supersized duck has already traveled around the world with stops in cities like Hong Kong, Taiwan, Sydney and New York City. There's so much going on already at Ascarate Park like the Insane Inflatable 5k, The Sun City Fair and now we can have 'Mama Duck' as another attraction. It would look so cool especially with the Franklin Mountains in the back.
