Just a few weeks after the Charcoaler closed, another, locally owned restaurant is shutting down.

Dominic's Italian Restaurant, 6901 Montana, is closing. They announced it on Facebook:

It comes with a heavy heart when I tell you Dominic’s will be closing its doors March 1, 2017. Thank you for your 26 years of patronage, we feel it’s time to throw in the towel. For 26 years we have tried our very best to be one of the best restaurants in El Paso, my dedicated employees/proxy family has given every ounce of energy to help Dominic’s survive. I love you all! My father’s ready to retire and I don’t feel a project the size of Dominic’s is where I need to be.

Michael John isn't giving up completely, though:

With God’s help I will look for a smaller location. I have incredible memories of friends, families, weddings, and parties that that I will never forget. I have seen young children grow into adults and hurt for my friends/guest that have passed away. Special thanks to my Aunt, Chris Pickett and Raline Campo, thank you for never giving up on us!

Man, another bummer for El Paso foodies. Be sure and stop in while you still can. According to the post, their final hours will be:

As for us, we will be open to say our goodbyes Monday- Friday from 11am- 10pm and Saturday from 4pm till 2am (dinner/salsa) until the end of the month. Again thank you for your patronage, I am sure Dominic’s will be missed.
