Las Cruces Trys New App To Prevent DWI Crashes

Want to know where the next DWI accident will be? There's an app for that!

The Mesilla Valley DWI Resourcee Center is unveiling a new app today with hopes it will help prevent DWI accidents by pinpointing where they're most likely to occur. The app will be used in the Las Cruces area as well as all over Dona Ana County which includes Anthony, Chaparral, Sunland Park and many others.

According to the Las Cruces Sun - News:

The application uses data from previous crashes over a period of years, applies a formula and produces results to visually show intersections or stretches of highway that are at high risk, or hot spots, for crashes occurring on a particular day of the week and time of day.

The new app is an updated version of one designed by the DWI Resource Center in Albuquerque.
