Las Cruces writer Ron Washburn, aka "Cactus Ron", hopes to make one of his works into a movie.

"A Reckoning In Goldenberg" is the tale of Mason Sampson.  A "halfbreed" of Indian/African descent who's family is brutally murdered. Years later, he discovers the man responsible in a town called Goldenberg.  (For a more in depth synopsis of the story, click here!)  It will be filmed near Deming at Bootheel, Old Western Town.

Washburn has started a campaign to fund the movie's trailer similar to the one Rob Zombie used to fund his current project.  Each person who donates will receive a special gift depending on the amount donated.

According to Washburn:

The risk of not completing our financial goal for this campaign is the greatest hurdle. The script is written. The location is secured. Score waiting on licensing. We are management centered, cast & crew on call, along with marketing & distribution avenues. We are asking for community support to begin the Western Film dream for southern New Mexico. Help us to employ local filmmakers, technicians, artisans, craftsmen, cast & crew and further Western filmmaking.
