For the last two years, Kern Place has put on a popular Halloween event for the neighborhood. Unfortunately, this year it will be canceled.

The "Halloween street closure" in Kern Place, near Madeline Park, will not take place this year, due to lack of resources, according to the Kern Place Association board.

The president of the association board said last year's event has become too large to manage. Lack of funds from fewer memberships and fewer volunteers have lead to the decision of canceling the event, but many are still hoping someone will find a way to keep the festivities alive.
