Rock icon Jon Bon Jovi is following in the footsteps of other rockers like Gene Simmons and Ozzy Osbourne by producing a brand new reality show. But he won't be starring in it.

Jon Bon Jovi will be working with The Weinstein Co.-Dimension Films, Prototype Entertainment and 3 Ball Entertainment on the new series. The series titled "If I Wasn't A Rock Star," will feature music celebrities who ditch their cushy lifestyle to go back to their hometowns and see what life would have been like if they didn't make it big.

Not only do the rock stars get to go home and rub it in the faces of their bullies that they went big time now, but the ordinary folks who can do things like change a tire or balance their checkbooks can show these rock stars they don't have everything in the world taken care of.

Here's what Jon Bon Jovi had to say about the new series:

"I was drawn to this project simply because it will be a celebration of the working men and women of this country. They are the real rock stars."

Unfortunately there isn't a network yet attached to the series but if it's as good as it sounds, it shouldn't have any trouble getting picked up. Jon Bon Jovi as the executive producer is also a plus.
