Frank The Pug

Alamo Draft House and Rahr and Sons Brewery are hosting beer school tonight! Learn about beer and find Ugly Pug beer, along with cute pugs for adoption!

The Glass Half Full Taproom inside the Alamo Draft House Montecillo is hosting Beer School featuring Fritz Rahr from Rahr and Sons Brewing Company. Rah and Son Brewery from Fort Worth, Texas is known for their delicious craft beers and especially one named after a cute dog. Ugly Pug is Rahr's black lager that is light-bodied with a moderately roasted flavor. The bottle also has an ugly pug on the label, complete with a eye patch and tongue sticking out.

A few months ago, I met with one of the owners of Rahr and Sons at a local restaurant where he told me about the brew. A family member used to have an elderly pug at home and he said while he was looking at him, he exclaimed "Man that is an ugly pug!"  The dog passed away and in his honor the brew was born.

Come check out the wonderful beers Rahr and Sons have to offer, while you learn about beer and check out some of the pugs available for adoption.

The event starts at 6:30 with Fritz Rahr speaking at 7 p.m. Afterwards at 7:30 p.m. the adoption event begins. Beer flights are $12 and include Rahr Blonde Helles Lager, Texas Red Amber Lager, Ugly Pug Black Lager, and Bourbon Winter English Style Dark Ale for you to enjoy! So come out and join us for an evening filled with amazing beer where you'll be able to learn more about beer, and your chance to meet pugs available for adoption at our Pug Patio Takeover!

This event is pet friendly! Leashed, well-behaved dogs are welcome.
