Joanna’s ASMR Demonstration
ASMR stands for Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response. What exactly is it, you ask? According to Wikipedia it is "an experience characterized by a static-like or tingling sensation on the skin that typically begins on the scalp and moves down the back of the neck and upper spine. It has been compared with auditory-tactile synesthesia." This is something that has suddenly exploded in the YouTube and Instagram communities.
Channels and pages are dedicated to these videos that mainly consist of whispering and other types of "triggers." Recently, fellow KLAQ DJ Veronica Gonzalez posted about soap carving. It's apparently a new trend in the ASMR community many find it satisfying to watch. Now, I've seen plenty of these types of videos and honestly, it doesn't work for me, I've never gotten the tingles with any of these videos. I don't get it, and it even made me think maybe I was doing it wrong.
Then it hit me, maybe I'm not meant to get the tingles but I'm meant to give the tingles. Here I try to do some ASMR demonstrations. Let me know if you got the tingles!
