Police Seek Missing Sex Offender

El Paso police are searching for a registered sex offender accused of fleeing his halfway house.  Police say 49 year old Terry Wayne Amos fled from the El Paso Transitional Living Center on Horizon Boulevard on July 2nd.  Amos was reportedly let out to go to a nearby dollar store, but police say he never returned.  Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to contact police.

Burglar Breaks Into Car, Steals Credit Card

An investigation is under way into a car burglary and identity theft case.  Police say the male suspect broke into a 2008 GMC Envoy at Bob-O's Family Fun Center last Saturday night and stole several items, including a credit card.  The suspect then allegedly used the credit card at a nearby McDonald's restaurant and at two locations in Juarez.  Anyone with information is urged to contact authorities.

Jade Helm 15 Begins, Conspiracy Theories Persist

A controversial large scale military exercise is under way.  Jade Helm 15 officially kicked off in seven states including Texas yesterday.  Led by the Army Special Operations Command, troops from all military branches will take part in the event for eight weeks.  While a military exercise might seem straightforward on the face of it, not everyone believes Jade Helm 15 is that innocent.  For months there have been conspiracy theories about how the event is the Pentagon's way of preparing for civil war and troops are being taught, among other things, how to enforce martial law.

Man Who Swore At Abbott Kept From Boarding Flight

Governor Greg Abbott's office says a man was kept from boarding a Jet Blue flight in New York after swearing at the governor.  An Abbott spokesperson tells the "Austin American-Statesman" the unidentified man told Abbott to "go to Hell," and also uttered a profanity Tuesday night because of Abbott's stance against gay marriage.  The spokesperson says the man then told Abbott he would "see you on the plane."  Jet Blue security told the man he wouldn't be flying back to Austin on the same plane Abbott was on, and would instead go on the first flight the next day.  He was also given a hotel room.
