Irish singer/songwriter David Keenan has gotten thousands of views of him singing a song he wrote called “El Paso”. It’s about missing his hometown and his memories of growing up in “El Paso.” The only thing is, he’s never been to Texas.

You see, “El Paso” is the nickname given to the Irish town of Dundalk. Dundalk is a border town. It’s on the border with Northern Ireland and has acquired the nickname of “El Paso” for this reason. So, this “El Paso” isn’t so much about gunfights in cantinas over dark-eyed ladies as it is about walking in the Irish rain through a working class village somewhere north of Dublin.
