To celebrate the second year of the Insane Inflatable 5K visiting El Paso, I suited up as Kitana from the popular video game, Mortal Kombat along with my fellow coworkers, Joe Maldanado and Sam Medina, who decided to dress-up as Scorpion and Sub-Zero. We conquered the craziest 5K, while some fell at the hands of giant balls.

I bring up the giant balls, because every time I discussed the Insane Inflatable 5K on the Buzz Adams and the KLAQ Morning Show, I shared the story of people being hit hard at that obstacle. Just image a bunch of adults in a kid's ball pit. Now, image those balls being about 10 times bigger and heavy and walking into inflatable Thunderdome. You will understand my fear when you hit the 0:25 mark of the video.

I want to give a shout-out to the girl who took that ball to the face, LIKE A BOSS. Yes, it looks pretty ugly, but she got right back up, grabbed her iPhone and finished that race. You go girl, that's the spirit.

Anyway, I had so much fun running in costume with my coworkers! Sam and Joe usually workout everyday, so they ran the whole 5K threatening me with fatalities, if I stopped running. They went all out with their outfits and even bought the full masks. They wore them for most of the race, and sweated out about half of their body weight in them.

I can't wait till we run again next year! We have to decided on our outfits, any suggestions? I am thinking something Disney and maybe we can get more of the KLAQ staff involved. Fernie would look adorable as Woody from Toy Story.
