We already learned that getting sick is actually worse for men. You can find that info HERE. But now the question is, how long are you contagious when you're sick? According to health.com you can be contagious for up to two weeks after the start of your symptoms.

Generally speaking however, you are most contagious 5 to 7 days after the start of your symptoms. But just because you feel better doesn't mean you are better. Which means keep washing you hands, keeping things clean, and if you are going to sneeze or cough, do it into your sleeve. Although you should be doing that anyway.

Most importantly though, don't necessarily blame the most recent sick person you came into contact with. If you were around someone who was sick on a Tuesday and started feeling like crap on Wednesday, chances are you were already sick before you ran into them. It usually takes 2 to 3 days in order for symptoms to start.
