Have you ever wondered how your donation helps the Make A Wish Foundation? Or how the wish process begins? We can help you!

What are wishes?

Wishes are whatever the child wants it to be. Kids can wish:

To Go: a foreign country, island, cruise
To Be: a police officer, scientist, football player
To Have: pet, shopping spree, computer
To Meet: a famous actor, musician, athlete, author
To Give: toys to a hospital, food to a shelter

Make A Wish have granted over 254,000 wishes for kids since 1980. Over 50% of the wishes somehow involve Disney, with their enthusiastic participation. The company helps from their theme parks, cruises, entertainment and even cash grants.

How does a child get a wish?

A child is referred by 3 sources: Wish Kid, Medical Professional, Family/Other

Are all wish kids terminally ill?

No, but all children are facing or have faced a life-threatening medical condition. Many of the wish kids have serious illnesses that they can manage but require extensive treatment. Others have been able to overcome their medical conditions with time and care. The wishes that kids are granted help give them something to look forward to, a goal to work towards and even just a good memory to look back on. It gives them even a small amount of time where they can be kids and not worry about treatments or their illness.

How much money donated goes to wishes?
