The second annual Border Beer & Wing Fling hit the parking lot at Cohen Stadium on Saturday, and was filled with great food, fantastic local music, tasty beer, and super hot ladies! It was a hot day in a lot of ways on Saturday, with people heating up their stomachs to match the outside temperature, while heating up their, um, lower areas looking at all the hot people drinking beer!

There were a ton of local and national wing restaurants competing for the Hottest Wing Title, and Most Unique/Original Wing! There were some really fantastic beers on hand, including a raspberry beer that was really good. Fun games for the kids, Sumo-suit wrestling, a mobile video game truck and lots of live music on stage!

Steady Shakedown kicked things off right, with some really good vibes and high evergy reggae. These guys also for it up at Balloonfest 2012, and sound great! The Third Edge rocked right after the Most Wings Eaten Contest, keeping the heat of the day going. After the Hottest Wing Eating Contest, Hot Rod Boogie kicked things into high gear, as did King Octopus and then Bash!

The night closed with a great show from the tribute band the Red Not Chili Peppers! Great band, really nice guys, and they hung out all day, wandering around talking to everyone and having a good time at the event.

Lots of great local music helped make this a great event, and I look forward to next year's Border Beer & Wing Fling. If you haven't seen any of these local bands, make sure to get out and see them and support the local music scene in El Paso and Las Cruces. There are some fantastic bands out there that you might not have seen or heard of yet.

Thanks to Jaime and everyone who helped make the Border Beer & Wing Fling happen, and next year will be bigger and better!
