Horrifying Video Shows Texas Family Upstairs While Flash Flood Rushes into Home

The horrendous weather in Texas the past five days has been hard to comprehend. This video shows the terrifying moments the Blanco River engulfed the bottom floor of a house in Wimberley, Texas. 

Sandra Perez and her family were staying in their vacation home in Wimberley, Texas when the rain started coming down. The Blanco River then surged into the house, blowing the door off the hinges. The family tried to put furniture and other household items in front of the door but it was no use against the torrents water flooding the outside. The family was thankfully able to get to the second floor of their home before the water came in. The entire bottom floor of the house was engulfed in murky brown water in mere seconds.

The Perez family was lucky. Firefighters were in the area checking on an elderly neighbor, and they were able to get their attention. Watch the horrifying video above. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Perez family, and others like them all over Texas. Read more about the Texas floods on CNN.
