Boston Bruins player Tim Thomas dissed the Pres, with, I think, a good reason!

Thomas stated:

I believe the Federal government has grown out of control, threatening the Rights, Liberties, and Property of the People.

"This is being done at the Executive, Legislative, and Judicial level. This is in direct opposition to the Constitution and the Founding Fathers vision for the Federal government.

"Because I believe this, today I exercised my right as a Free Citizen, and did not visit the White House. This was not about politics or party, as in my opinion both parties are responsible for the situation we are in as a country. This was about a choice I had to make as an INDIVIDUAL.

"This is the only public statement I will be making on this topic. TT

That's awesome!! Then again, maybe he's just after some publicity.  Either way, the reason I'm posting on this is that I agree with him!  It's not about a certain party or individual, it's about all of them growing to powerful, to arrogant and to uncaring about many of the real matters in our country.

I think everyone should start doing things like this!! Refuse to attend things, refuse to do things, REFUSE TO SEND THEM MONEY!!

Alert the press, Facebook, fan clubs,  use whatever fame, notoriety or 'attention getter' you can!!  Let as many people as possible know what you're doing so that others are aware of your actions and can help spread the word to!

These 'peaceful yet well publicized' stunts may be what stirs things up and makes the politicos stop and take notice of what we want or think. They can also serve to teach the youth of our country how to stand up and be heard when they disagree with something!  As time passes (and political science slowly disappears from our school curiculums) it's important that we don't raise a generation that feels "there's nothing we can do".  Subsequently doing just that ... nothing.

When 'Big Bro government' sees that people are sick and tired of the way things are; perhaps then they'll change.

The dumbest things can sometimes have the most far reaching effects!
