Obviously, these school administrators need to watch this show more often. When I think of Uncle Si, the farthest thing from my mind is a violent man.

A high school in Virginia recently told students they could not wear a certain Duck Dynasty shirt to school because it "implied violence." Hunter Spain is a 12 year old at the school and decided to show his love for his favorite show by wearing a shirt with a show slogan on it. The shirt reads, "I will hurt you physically and metaphysically," with a picture of the sweet, old Uncle Si. For anyone who has ever seen the show, you know that Uncle Si isn't known for his words of wisdom, he is more known for funny statements.

Here is a sample of some of the things Si has said on the show:

A redneck walkin’ into Bass Pro Shops gets more excited than a 12 year old girl going to a Justin Beaver concert

Last time it got this hot, I blacked out, I woke up naked & I was in the middle of a park

I'm the most cultured man in this family. I've been to Vietnam, Germany, Boise Idaho & Shreveport last week.

Hey, look here, I tell a story like an M. Night Comealong movie. I'm just settin' ya up for a big twist.

If you want to read more of Si's epic quotes (trust me you want to), there is an entire website dedicated to it.

The family of the boy who was told to change, are all apparently huge fans of the television show. When his mother was interviewed about the controversy, she was wearing her own Duck Dynasty shirt for the occasion. She said the family was even planning on attending a Duck Dynasty cruise this summer.

The school gave Hunter Spain the option to either turn his shirt inside out, or go home and switch shirts. Hunter's response? “I’m not gonna look stupid in front of all these young ladies in school, so I decided to get a different t-shirt.”

David Clark, the superintendent of Dinwiddie County Public Schools, told the media that the shirt was banned because he didn't want students who were not familiar with the show to be frightened. I think just Uncle Si's face would scare you if you don't watch the show.
