Guess How Much the Federal Government Paid for This Gas Station [VIDEO]

No wonder the government is broke...

The Department of Defense (DoD) just spent millions of our tax dollars on a gas station in a country without the proper infrastructure for it, inhabited by people who can't afford to use it and which -- by the way -- is still pretty much a war zone.

According to a report by the Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction, the DoD:

"spent $43 million on the gas station, without determining it would be a good idea, and now claims it knows nothing about the project.” To date, DOD has been unable to provide documentation showing why the Sheberghan CNG station cost nearly $43 million.” “Even considering security costs associated with construction and operation in Afghanistan, this level of expenditure appears gratuitous and extreme.”

The average cost of building such a facility is around $500,000 yet, the DoD paid $43 million. And, now they say they "didn't know about it"? WTF?
