First Pro Marijuana Bill Of 2017 Pre-Filed

A bill for the 2017 legislative session has been pre - filed that would significantly lessen the penalty for possession of an ounce, or less, of marijuana.

Texas NORML posted that the Civil Penalties Bill (HB 81) would:

take possession of 1 once of marijuana or less out of the criminal realm and turn it into a civil offense by eliminating the arrest, jail time, and criminal record associated with low-level marijuana possession.
