According to the National Weather Service in El Paso they are calling for heavy rains with flash flooding potential through Saturday morning. Check out where you can get free sandbags!

Remember not to splash the people waiting at the bus stops. If your driving in the rain here are some tips.

  • Drive smoothly
  • Avoid flooded areas
  • Use your lights
  • Pull over if weather gets worse

Our news partners at ABC 7 have put together a list where residents can get free sandbags.

"El Paso Water Utilities and Dona Ana County have set up sites in the Borderland to give out free sandbags.

There is a limit of 15 bags per EPWU customer at no cost.

In Dona Ana County, all 16 volunteer fire districts have sandbags to give out on a first come, first serve basis.

There is a limit of 10 sandbags per residence or business.

Sandbags are to protect the entrance of your home from flood waters."
