Fernie and Emily Panhandle Outside the KLAQ Studios

Monday on the KLAQ morning show, the crew discussed a story about about a man who gave money to an elderly woman panhandling, then the next day he saw her driving a new model year car! Tons of listeners called and tweeted us their opinion on the situation, so we came up with an idea.

As we sat in the KLAQ morning show office, Fernie came up with a great idea. Yes, he does come up with ideas. He wanted to conduct an experiment to see if we could make any money panhandling.

Fernie and I grabbed a sign, and took to the streets. We walked the median, right in front of the studio, hoping we could get some change. After 30 minutes, we ended up collecting $3.50, which will be donated to the Spirit of Children program.

I didn't make much money, but Fernie did a great job! We did this just for fun, so if anyone is offended, I apologize in advance.
