James Stewart won the Supercross main event a while back in Oakland and this is how he saw it!!  Cool pass about :40 seconds in and the “winning pass” (over Reed) happens at about 4:00!

Speaking of Chad Reed; he wiped out BAD last week in Dallas and is out for the rest of the season with a torn anterior cruciate ligament, broken tibia and fibula, two broken ribs and a broken vertebra.  Watch what happened to him below…….

Snapped in August, 1965 this photo shows a bikini-clad Mari Rennie serving this gent a free gallon of gas as a gimmick to attract customers during a price war amongst gas companies. Brilliant marketing technique!

People probably wouldn’t care about skyrocketing gas prices these days if all gas attendants were attractive women in bikinis. We’d still have issues with the price of beef jerky. Highway robbery! Except in those gas station that aren’t on highways. Then it’s just regular robbery.

A few weeks ago, Stone Temple Pilots‘ unreleased attempt at a music video for their 2010 single ‘Cinnamon‘ made its way to the Internet. Now, an alternate clip featuring trippy animation, a desert and a lonely Scott Weiland has surfaced — see it below.

Stone Temple Pilots released the third single from their self-titled comeback album in September 2010. ‘Cinnamon’ featured Weiland, in full-on David Bowie mode, over a bubbly Beatles-esque groove with touches of STP’s signature alt-rock magic. The band attempted to produce a music video for the single on two separate occasions, both of which garnered results the band was ultimately unhappy with and an official video for ‘Cinnamon’ was never released.

A few weeks back, one version of the video surfaced on YouTube and while the clip was not without its high points, it also had its fair share of awkwardness. Images of a sleep-singing Scott Weiland on a pile of passed out ladies is not exactly a great PR move given his history of substance abuse. The clip was eventually pulled from YouTube due to copyright issues.

Now we open a new chapter in ‘The Book of Things Never Meant to Be’ with another video for ‘Cinnamon.’ The clip features Scott Weiland wandering the desert aimlessly in black & white before psychedelic colors pour in to illuminate the bleak surroundings. The video, directed by Dennis Roberts, ends up playing more like a long-form gum commercial than a true music video.

Let’s hope Stone Temple Pilots have better creative luck with their next album, which is currently in the works, as is a tour commemorating the 20th birthday of their breakthrough debut album ‘Core.’

Soulfly / Cavalera Conspiracy frontman Max Cavalera has been diagnosed with Bell’s Palsy, a temporary condition that results in the inability to control facial muscles. Cavalera was rushed to the hospital shortly after his return from Australia last week, frightened that he was having a stroke.

Bell’s Palsy is caused by a dysfunction of the cranial nerve VII (the facial nerve). After consulting a doctor, Cavalera was put on a course of antibiotics and is improving greatly — expected to make a full recovery. Cavalera took a moment to thank fans for their concern and well wishes — reassuring his supporters that he is in good health.

“I woke up one morning after coming home from Australia and the whole room was spinning,” recounts Cavalera. “I looked at Gloria and said, ‘There’s something wrong here.’ She said, ‘Your face looks weird.’ I went to the mirror and couldn’t move half of my face. We thought I was having a stroke, so we rushed to the hospital.”

Cavalera continued, “I learned my condition was called Bell’s Palsy but I’d never heard of that. It’s a f—ing weird disease. My right eye won’t blink, and half of my face feels like I’ve been punched by Mike Tyson! It hurts like hell. Anyway, I am leaving for Brazil tomorrow. The show must go on and this Bell’s Palsy ain’t gonna stop a metalhead from his duties. I hope I’ll be ok and thanks to all the fans concerned with me. Stay Metal.”

Soulfly are set to release their eighth studio album ‘Enslaved’ on March 13. They are gearing up to kick off a U.S. tour with Five Finger Death Punch in late March.

By now everyone and their grandmother has seen the YouTube video of Poison frontman Bret Michaels getting smacked in the face with a prop during his performance at the 2009 Tony Awards with the cast of Rock of Ages and that’s exactly why Michaels is suing over the incident … again.

Michaels first filed suit last year after unsuccessfully attempting to reach an amicable settlement claiming that the mishap was responsible for the brain hemorrhage and mild stroke he suffered following the incident. The latest filings assert that even though the show had a delay, they chose to air the gruesome footage in hopes of increasing their ratings and getting a bit of a publicity boost, and hey, let’s face it, it worked.

According to the latest report, the Manhattan federal court filing states, “(CBS officials) could have prevented the footage… from airing via the standard seven-second broadcast delay. The defendants took no such measures – presumably because the incident could lead to greater publicity and ratings for the show.”

The $50 million lawsuit is aimed at the Tony Award bosses and CBS network executives who allegedly have thwarted the first lawsuit by shifting the blame away from themselves and aimed it at the production company of the Rock of Ages show. Michaels’ attorney Alex Weingarten has called it “a desperate act” and accuses them of “trying to point fingers elsewhere.”

He also confirms that Bret has no ill will towards Rock of Ages, saying, “We did not drag Rock of Ages into this, and Bret has nothing but the utmost respect for them, their production and the performers who were on stage and in harm’s way with him that night.”

According to Music-News.com, the video of Bret Michaels accident quickly became one of the Internet’s 10 most viewed videos at the time, with the video clips raking in several million views.

Michaels, back in fighting form, is currently working on a solo album titled ‘Get Your Rock On’ due out later this year.

Thousand Foot Krutch

Canadian Christian rockers Thousand Foot Krutch are getting ready to release their new album ‘The End Is Where We Begin’ in April, their first release since their departure from Tooth and Nail Records.

The band went back to DIY mode for this disc, planning to release it independently. In order to accomplish that, they got creative and offered up several pre-release packages and first listens to fans who donated to the cause. The first new song available was ‘War of Change’ in December followed by the title track and ‘Courtesy Call’ released in early January.

Frontman Travis McNevan talked about the new album coming together, explaining, “Without trying, this record has a very militant theme to it, with songs like ‘War Of Change’ and ‘Courtesy Call’ painting more of a visual for that.” He expanded on that even more, saying, “There’s an urgency to it and I think the timing feels right. This record’s heart can be summed up by ‘Be The Change,’ the album’s lyric and phrase seen throughout the album artwork.”

Fans will have to wait a little longer to hear ‘Be The Change’ but you can check out the artwork for the new album above.

Apparently Thousand Foot Krutch is the perfect soundtrack for sports junkies too. ESPN has taken a liking to the band, picking up ‘Let the Sparks Fly’ and ‘Light Up the Sky’ for use on their network.

Long before Drew Carey, ‘The Price Is Right’ was hosted by a master swordsman by the name of Bob Barker.
