Additional Information

On April 26, 27 and 28, 2013, we will hold a sci-fi convention at the Airport Marriot Hotel.

Our featured line-up of guests include:

Peter Mayhew
- Mayhew has played the part of Chewbacca in four Star Wars films: the original Star Wars trilogy (Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, and Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi) and Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. He also played the role in the 1978 television film The Star Wars Holiday Special, as well as in an appearance on The Muppet Show. In addition, he recorded dialogue[3] as Chewbacca for the animated show The Clone Wars, in the Season 3 finale episode called Wookiee Hunt.[4] Mayhew also plays the role in commercials and for hospital appearances for sick children. When cast in the role, he studied the movement of large animals at the zoo to come up with an authentic sense of movement for Chewbacca. When Mayhew grew ill in the shooting of The Empire Strikes Back, a similarly tall stand in was used, but the actor could not match Mayhew's studied movement style and the scenes had to be re-shot upon Mayhew's recovery. Mayhew did not provide the voice of Chewbacca; that was created by the film's sound designer, Ben Burtt, by mixing together the growls of different animals.

Tom Kane
- voice actor with over 25 years of experience. He is widely known for his animation work. Notable roles are Jedi Master Yoda and Admiral Yularen in Star Wars: The Clone Wars feature film and TV series. In addition to voicing Yoda, he has voiced lead roles in The Powerpuff Girls, Robot Chicken, Kim Possible, The Avengers, Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, Iron Man, The Wild Thornberrys, Wolverine and the X-Men and many more.

Marina Sirtis
- played the role of the human/Betazoid Councilor Deanna Troi on the television and film series Star Trek: The Next Generation. Before her role in Star Trek, Sirtis was featured in supporting roles in several films. In the 1983 Faye Dunaway film The Wicked Lady, she engaged in a whip fight with Dunaway. In the Charles Bronson sequel Death Wish 3, Sirtis's character is a rape victim. In the film Blind Date, she appears as a prostitute who is murdered by a madman. She has an established record of British television work, appearing in Minder, Raffles, The Return of Sherlock Holmes, Casualty and Holby City among other things. She played the stewardess in the famous Cinzano Bianco television commercial starring Leonard Rossiter and Joan Collins, in which Collins was splattered with drink.

Tony Amendola
- is best known for playing the Jaffa Master Bra'tac in Stargate SG-1. Amondola is also known for his recurring role as revolutionary leader Edouard Kagame of Liber8 in the television show Continuum. His film work includes appearances opposite Johnny Depp in Ted Demme’s BLOW, Antonio Banderas and Anthony Hopkins in THE MASK OF ZORRO and THE LEGEND OF ZORRO, and Chris Cooper in John Sayles’ LONE STAR. His TV Guest appearances include recurring roles on DEXTER, CSI: NY, SEINFELD, THE PRACTICE, and a long running role on STARGATE: SG1 as Master Bratac. Earlier this year, Tony completed work on the “picked up to series” ABC pilot, ONCE UPON A TIME.
