An El Paso tradition is changing it up a little this year.

The annual celebration of lights parade and Christmas tree lighting fall on a different date this year, November 18th, and the parade will follow a slightly longer route.  According to the El Paso Herald Post:

The new route incorporates part of the Segundo Barrio neighborhood and the famed Paseo de Las Luces (El Paso Street) that is currently under renovation. The parade starts on Texas Street, winds through Segundo Barrio and Paseo de las Luces, through San Jacinto Plaza, and then continues back to Texas Street.

The nighttime parade features more than 60 attractions and walking groups adorned in lights.

El Paso Mayor Dee Margo will light the Christmas tree at 5:55pm and the parade will follow immediately afterward. For details on how to be IN the parade, click here. Following the parade, stick around for live music, outdoor ice skating and more!
