Thanks to an update to the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act, letting your sweetie, your homies or your kids use your Netflix or HBO passwords is a federal crime. Really!

No need to worry though, crime or not, Netflix and HBO really don't give a sh** if you share your access. According to an MSN.com article:

HBO said it didn’t have enough information on the case to comment. Netflix has said in the past that it doesn’t track the number of people sharing account passwords because it’s difficult to do.

Netflix chief executive, Reed Hastings, said:

“We love people sharing Netflix whether they’re two people on a couch or 10 people on a couch. That’s a positive thing, not a negative thing.” “As kids move on in their life, they like to have control of their life, and as they have an income, we see them separately subscribe.

The types of hacking this act was designed to combat are pretty serious issues but this, obviously, isn't. Share away peeps, fight the power!!
