The local food bank needs a new truck to distribute food to Borderland residents in need.

El Pasoans Fighting Hunger is a non-profit organization established in 2011. The organization serves a continually growing base of people through 110 food pantrys. Last year alone, they served around 100,000 El Pao area residents. An El Paso Times editorial says approximately 131,000 El Paso county residents do not have consistent access to food.

The organization has five trucks but need a sixth to continue getting food to those who need it. Between 2012 and 2014 they doubled the amount of food they have to distribute, hence the need for a new truck which will cost about $124,000.

If you would like to help via a donation, organizing a fund raiser or in any other manner, please contact them at (915) 298-0353.
