El Paso Zoo Hosting Two Pokemon Go Sleepovers In August

The El Paso Zoo is embracing the Pokemon Go craze by hosting not one but TWO Pokemon Go sleepovers in August.

Pokemon Go is the game craze that is taking over the nation! No matter where you go, you see people running around trying to catch them all. Now even the El Paso Zoo wats to help you catch Pokemon more common at the zoo and even after dark!

The zoo has an awesome 17 Pokestop stops and even a gym! During the Pokemon Go sleepovers, participants will have access to all of these spots. Run around the zoo and collect all the eggs and Poke Balls you can, then head to the Gym to train and battle other players.

Education Specialist Stephanie Gonzalez spoke about how excited the El Paso Zoo is to host the Pokemon Go sleepovers,

“This is a fun way to catch rare Pokémon, and discover even more rare endangered species. We are excited to be able to have an interactive opportunity to host a special Zoo Adventure Program with a themed twist.”

The Zoo is also going to be helping young Pokemon trainers by dropping lures throughout the night to help catch more Pokemon. The Zoo will also have special animal encounters where you can meet and learn about animals at the zoo that resemble some of your favorite Pokemon characters!

The Zoo will also help guests make their own Poke Balls for Zoo animals so they can join in on the fun and "catch" them!

The two sleepover will be August 12th and August 19th. Sleepovers include a box dinner, continental breakfast, two special behind the scenes tours, special "Pokemon" animal encounters, access to all the Pokestops, the gym and more! Your reservation for the sleepover also includes a day ticket so you can come back and enjoy the Zoo during the day and catch Pokemon too!

The sleepover is $57 for adults and $53 for kids under 13 years old. One adult must accompany every 5 guests under 17 years old.

The deadline to sign up for the August 12th sleepover is August 1st, and the deadline for the August 19th sleepover is August 5th. Each sleepover only has 25 guest spots so hurry and sign up now!
