Here’s what’s going on in and around El Paso this weekend, February 7 – February 9. Some events are free, some will cost you a few bucks:

FRIDAY:

Live Horse Racing – The live horse racing season continues at Sunland Park Racetrack & Casino. Post time is 12:15 p.m. Free general admission and parking. More Details

Autorama Car Show – Hot rides invade El Paso. From antiques to classic trucks, muscle cars, street rods, low riders, custom motorcycles and much more. 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the El Paso Convention Center. Tickets $10 adults, kids 10 years old and under free. More Details

Friday at the Fire – Enjoy an evening of live music set against the ambiance of the Freedom Crossing outdoor fireplace. Tonight, Karaoke 6- 11 p.m. Free.

First Friday ArtWalk and Ghost Tour – All of the art galleries are open in the evening for this once a month event in the San Elizario Art District. Live music at the Bandido Cantina, the “Movie on the Wall” at 8:00 p.m. and the San Elizario Ghost Tour at 10:00 p.m.are also part of the festivities. 6 – 9 p.m. in the Art District located off Socorro Rd at Main Street. Raul Di Blasio – The Argentinean piano extraordinaire performs at 8 p.m. at The Plaza Theatre. Tickets prices vary. More Details

Ice Skating – Whoosh around on ice skates in the area’s largest public ice skating rink. 7 p.m to 10 p.m. in the Sierra Providence Event Center, 4100 E Paisano, behind the El Paso County Coliseum. Cost: $8, $6 Military. Admission includes skate rental. More Details

UTEP Dinner Theatre Presents ‘Smokey Joe’s Cafe’ – A musical revue showcasing 39 pop standards, including rock and roll and rhythm and blues songs written by songwriters Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller. 7 p.m., 2nd Floor UTEP’s Union Building West. Tickets prices vary. More Details

SATURDAY:

Winter Market at Ardovino’s Desert Crossing – The “producers only” market features area farmers, backyard gardeners and artisans selling organic and pesticide-free vegetables, locally-made goat cheeses, natural free range chickens and eggs, native plants for home and yard, fresh-baked breads and salsas. 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. (575) 589-0653, ext. 3

Downtown Artist and Farmers Market – The market offers the chance to shop for original arts and crafts and regionally grown produce in an outdoor setting while enjoying entertainment featuring local artists, food vendors and free activities for the entire family. 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Union Plaza District (near The Garden Restaurant) along Anthony Street. Freedom Crossing Family Play Date – The family-themed event begins with a showing of Night at the Museum at the Grand Theatre at 10 a.m. Tickets for all ages are $3.50 and include a kid’s size popcorn and soda. Free activities for kids follows at 11 a.m. in the Play Area and runs through 2 p.m. Freedom Crossing, 11611 Haan Road at Ft. Bliss

Tuff Hedeman West Texas Shootout – El Paso native and Four-time World Champion Bull Rider Tuff Hedeman brings World Championship bull riding back to the Sun City. The event features the 24 riders in the world competing in a new “8-Second Format”. 8 p.m. at the El Paso County Coliseum, 4100 Paisano. Ticket prices vary. More Details

Concordia Cemetery Ghost Tour – The Paso del Norte Paranormal Society will hold a paranormal investigation of Concordia Cemetery from 9 to 11 p.m. Admission: $10; 13 and older. Proceeds go toward restoration and preservation of the cemetery. More Details
