Live Horse Racing – The live horse racing season continues at Sunland Park Racetrack & Casino. Post time is 12:55 p.m. FREE general admission and parking. More Details

Friday at the Fire – Live music by local bands set against the ambiance of the Freedom Crossing at Ft. Bliss outdoor fireplace. 6 – 11 p.m. FREE. Tonight, Maddison Livingston (country).

Sesame Street Live ‘Let’s Dance’ - An up-close, interactive dance party with Elmo, Cookie Monster, Ernie and other Sesame Street friends. 6:30 p.m. at the Abraham Chavez Theatre. Ticket prices vary. More Details

Public Ice Skating– Get your glide on in the area’s largest public ice skating rink. 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. in the Sierra Providence Event Center, 4100 E Paisano, behind the El Paso County Coliseum. Cost: $8, $6 Military. Admission includes skate rental. More Details

El Paso Playhouse Presents ‘The Dixi Swim Club’ – El Paso Playhouse presents the dramedy about five Southern women and their friendships. 8 p.m. showtime at the El Paso Playhouse, 2501 Montana. Ticket prices vary. More Details

SATURDAY:

Farmers Market at Ardovino’s Desert Crossing – The “producers only” market features area farmers, backyard gardeners and artisans selling organic and pesticide-free vegetables, locally-made goat cheeses, natural free range chickens and eggs, native plants for home and yard, fresh-baked breads and salsas. 7:30 a.m. to noon. Downtown Artist and Farmers Market – The market offers the chance to shop for original arts and crafts and regionally grown produce in an outdoor setting while enjoying entertainment featuring local artists, food vendors and free activities for the entire family. 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Union Plaza District (near The Garden Restaurant) along Anthony Street. Franklin Mountain Poppies Fest - The 9th annual fest celebrates the awakening of the Mexican Gold Poppies on Castner Range in Northeast El Paso. The day includes nature walks, nature talks, educational exhibits, and wildlife displays. 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at El Paso Museum of Archaeology, 4301 Transmountain. Admission is FREE. More Details

37th Annual Transmountain Optimist NorthEaster Parade - The procession will begin at the intersection of Hercules and Diana Drive and continue along Diana for about a mile and a half to the old NorthPark Mall. Former Senator Eliot Shapliegh is the Grand Marshall. 10 a.m. FREE. More Details

Parks and Rec Easter Egg Hunts - The City of El Paso Parks and Rec Department will be hosting free Easter Egg Hunts throughout the city at various recreation centers. 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. More Details

Golden Easter Egg Hunt and April Pools Day - The City of El Paso Parks and Recreation Department will host a Golden Easter Egg Hunt and swimming for children under 12-years-old. 11:30 a.m. at the Armijo Aquatic Center, 911 S. Ochoa St. FREE. More Details

Easter Egg Hunt and Spring Bash - Westside Community Church hosts this annual event. Family activities include a jumping balloon and face painting, and an appearance by the Easter Bunny. 12 noon to 3 p.m. at Francisco Delgado Park, on Imperial Ridge behind Franklin High School. FREE. 490-2800

Easter-avaganza Holiday Parade - The ’50s themed parade will follow a one mile long route that will culminate inside Biggs park. You are invited to take part in the parade with your own 1950′s-themed strollers, bikes, scooters, wagons, and outfits. Parade starts at the front of Biggs Park, 11388 Sergeants Major Blvd on East Fort Bliss. More Details

The Easter Bunny at the El Paso Zoo – The zoo animals will celebrate with the Easter Bunny and his special guests Peter Pan and the Neverland Fairies. Peter Pan and the Fairies will present a special spring fairy show at 12:30 and 2:30 p.m. Shows are free with Zoo Admission. More Details

Easter Egg Adventure at Freedom Crossing - Kids can drop in at participating mall stores and restaurants and collect free candy-filled eggs, while supplies last. Other activities include photos with the Easter Bunny, Easter cup cake decorating, face painting, and magic shows in the Play Area. 12 noon - 3 p.m. FREE. More Details

San Elizario Easter Egg Hunt - 10,000 Easter eggs will be up for grabs at the 2nd Annual San Elizario Easter Egg Hunt. 2 p.m. [pre-registration beginning at 12 noon], Main Street and Alarcon Road in San Elizario. FREE, but children must be accompanied by parent or guardian. 851-0093
