Here’s what’s going on in and around El Paso this weekend, June 13 – June 15, 2014. Some events are free, the others will cost you a few bucks:

FRIDAY:

Alfresco! Fridays – Fresh-air performances from local bands playing various genres of music. 6 p.m. No outside food or beverages allowed. No pets allowed. In the Convention Center Plaza next to Abraham Chavez Theatre. FREE. This week, Tejas Band (Spanish Variety). More Details

Friday at the Fire – Live music by local bands set against the ambiance of the Freedom Crossing at Ft. Bliss outdoor fireplace. 6 – 11 p.m. FREE. This week, Locomotion (classic rock).

El Paso Chihuahuas Baseball – El Paso’s Triple A team hosts the Round Rock Express. Appearance by the ZOOperstars. Game time is 7:05 p.m. at Southwest University Park on Santa Fe Street in Downtown El Paso. Ticket prices vary. More Details

Movies on the Lawn – UTEP’s annual summer film series features movies shown outdoors on an 18-foot inflatable screen. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets, but leave your alcohol and glass containers at home. Concessions available. This week’s featured film is The Game Plan. Movie starts at approximately 8:30 p.m., weather permitting. FREE. More Details

Concordia Cemetery Ghost Tour – The Paso del Norte Paranormal Society will hold a paranormal investigation of Concordia Cemetery from 9 to 11 p.m. Admission $10. More Details

SATURDAY:

Farmer’s Market at Ardovino’s Desert Crossing – The “producers only” market features area farmers, backyard gardeners and artisans selling organic and pesticide-free vegetables, locally-made goat cheeses, natural free range chickens and eggs, native plants for home and yard, fresh-baked breads and salsas. 7:30 a.m. to noon. Downtown Artist and Farmers Market – The market offers the chance to shop for original arts and crafts and regionally grown produce in an outdoor setting while enjoying entertainment featuring local artists, food vendors and free activities for the entire family. 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Union Plaza District (near The Garden Restaurant) along Anthony Street. Free parking. More Details

Dancing In the City – The outdoor dance/concert series includes a dance lesson at 7:00 p.m. and a live music performance from 8:00 – 10:00 p.m. in the Convention Center Plaza next to Abraham Chavez Theatre. FREE. This week, Samba Batucada Alma De Fogo (Samba).

El Paso Chihuahuas Baseball – El Paso’s Triple A team hosts the Round Rock Express. Fireworks, presented by 93.1 KISS-FM, will follow after the game. Game time is 7:05 p.m. at Southwest University Park on Santa Fe Street in Downtown El Paso. Ticket prices vary. More Details

The Doubletree by Hilton presents Saturday Night Movies on the Terrace – You don’t have to be a guest in the hotel to enjoy the movie. Tonight, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2. 8:30 p.m., weather permitting, on the Sunset Terrace located on the 7th floor of Doubletree Hotel, 600 N. El Paso St. in downtown El Paso. Mission Trails Art Market – The open-air market features arts and crafts, music, and the ‘Billy The Kid Breakout Show’ by The Pistoleros De San Elizario re-enactors at 1p.m and 3 p.m. Market open from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. Veteran’s Memorial Plaza, 1500 Main in San Elizario. Music on the Patio at La Vina Winery – Bring your favorite wine, snack, or a picnic and enjoy an afternoon of entertainment on the lawn. 1:30pm – 4:30 pm. FREE admission. 4201 S. NM Highway 28 in La Union, N.M. one mile north of Vinton Road on Highway 28. 575-882-7632

Doors open at 6 p.m, show starts around 9 p.m. FREE admission 18 and older, $10 17 and younger accompanied by adult. More Details
