Here’s what’s going on in and around El Paso this weekend, May 2 – May 4, 2014.Some events are free, the others will cost you a few bucks:

FRIDAY:

Jerry Seinfeld – One of America’s most successful comedians, best known for playing a semi-fictional version of himself in the popular sitcom Seinfeld, brings his observational stand up to town. 7 p.m. at the Abraham Chavez Theatre, 1 Civic Center Plaza. Ticket prices vary. More Details

Alfresco! Fridays – Fresh-air performances from local bands playing various genres of music. 6 p.m. No outside food or beverages allowed. No pets allowed. Still downtown, but now on the Convention Center Plaza. This week, Sorry about Your Sister. More Details

Friday at the Fire – Enjoy an evening of live music set against the ambiance of the Freedom Crossing outdoor fireplace. Tonight, 1st Armored Division Latin Band (salsa, Latin). 6- 11 p.m. at Freedom Crossing at Fort Bliss, 1611 Haan Road. FREE.

San Eli First Friday ArtWalk and Ghost Tour – All of the art galleries stay open into the evening for this once a month event in the San Elizario Art District. Live music at the Bandido Cantina, the “Movie on the Wall” at 8:00 p.m. and the San Elizario Ghost Tour at 10:00 p.m.are also part of the festivities. 6 – 9 p.m. in the Art District located off Socorro Rd at Main Street. UTEP’s Get Reel Film Series – Get Reel (previously Cinema Novo) presents independent and educational films as well as blockbuster movies for as little as $1. Tonight’s movie is the Tom Hanks, Emma Thompson movie Saving Mr. Banks. 7 p.m., UTEP Union Cinema, 500 W. University. Admission is $1 – $2. More Details

UTEP Dinner Theatre Presents ‘Les Miserables’ – The award-winning musical based on the novel of the same name returns by popular demand. 7 p.m., 2nd Floor UTEP’s Union Building West. Ticket prices vary. More Details

Ice Skating – Whoosh around on ice skates in the area’s largest public ice skating rink. 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. in the Sierra Providence Event Center, 4100 E Paisano, behind the El Paso County Coliseum. Cost: $8, $6 Military. Admission includes skate rental. More Details

El Paso Chihuahuas Baseball – El Paso’s new Triple A team hosts the Sacramento River Cats. First 2,000 fans will receive the first jersey pin of a series of five. Game time is 7:05 p.m. Tickets prices vary. More Details

El Paso Wind Symphony Presents ‘Player’s Choice’ – The El Paso Wind Symphony concludes its season with a performance featuring their favorite selections. 7:30 p.m. at UTEP’s Fox Fine Arts Recital Hall. Tickets are $12.50; $7.50 students. More Details

SATURDAY:

George Lopez – An El Paso favorite, the television/movie star, and standup comedian presents his “Listen to My Face Tour.” 8 p.m. at the Abraham Chavez Theatre, 1 Civic Center Plaza. Ticket prices vary. More Details

Downtown Artist and Farmers Market – The market offers the chance to shop for original arts and crafts and regionally grown produce in an outdoor setting while enjoying entertainment featuring local artists, food vendors and free activities for the entire family. 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Union Plaza District (near The Garden Restaurant) along Anthony Street. Winter Market at Ardovino’s Desert Crossing – The “producers only” market features area farmers, backyard gardeners and artisans selling organic and pesticide-free vegetables, locally-made goat cheeses, natural free range chickens and eggs, native plants for home and yard, fresh-baked breads and salsas. 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. (575) 589-0653, ext. 3

Sun City BikeFest III – The two day festival features stunt shows, food and merchandise vendors, a beer garden, and live entertainment. Tonight’s entertainment includes a Mini KISS Tribute band, and from the Full Throttle Saloon, The Flaunt Girls. 12 noon – 10 p.m. at Barnett Harley-Davidson, 8272 Gateway East. Tickets; $20, Kids 12 and under FREE. More Details
