An El Paso man saw how people started a GoFundMe to raise funds to help out Kanye West. Now he has his own, called "Screw You Kanye West."

Kanye West has been all over the news recently -- for attacking pop star Taylor Swift, for acting erratic in public and also for saying he is tens of millions of dollars in debt. Around $53 million to be exact, if you keep track of those things.

West has tons of adoring fans all over the world and one of them actually started a GoFundMe account to try and raise the $53 million to help get him out of debt. Not like you couldn't just buy a song, or album, or a ridiculously overpriced T-shirt from his fashion line instead. But hey, do what you want with your own money. Some people have actually donated to this GoFundMe, and the account has raised over $80,000 for the egotistical, self-proclaimed "rock star."

One El Paso man saw how people were donating to West and his financial issues and decided he wanted to do the same.

Ben Hewitt started a fundraiser of his own on GoFundMe, but instead to support himself. Here's how Hewitt described his GoFundMe:

Hello, my name is Ben Hewitt. I am a U.S. Army veteran, a full-time student at UTEP, and a musician.  I play gigs around town, and volunteer as a Big Brother (BBBS). It angers me that there is a "GoFundMe" to help Kanye West to get to $54 million. It drives me crazy that there's a man out there that willingly demeans women,  steals her accomplishments as his own, rants backstage during an SNL show, and still has a large following. Kanye describes himself as more influential than Stanely Kubrick , and Picasso.

I am starting this GoFundMe as a "Screw You" to Kanye West.  If there are people out there willing to give this man money, maybe there are people who might support me as a musician, a veteran and a student. I would use this money to support my education, music, and coming up with neat ideas and events for my little brother (from BBBS). Thank you for your time an consideration.

So far, Hewitt's GoFundMe has only raised $30 but the account has only been up a couple days. Check out his GoFundMe here and if you want, donate to his cause. You can also check out his band Tonality on Facebook as well.
