Wallethub recently released their list of the best and worst cities for you skin and El Paso made the list. See where the Sun City ranked on the list.

Website Wallhub recently released their list of the best and worst cities for your skin. In the United States, skin cancer is more common than breast, colon, lung and prostate cancer combined. More than 5 million new cases of skin cancer are diagnosed every year. 76,000 cases of invasive melanoma were diagnosed in 2016 alone. That's the type that spread to other parts of the body.

The skin has many enemies that can cause or put you at greater risk of skin cancer. Things like tobacco use, pollution, use of tanning beds, exposure to sun,  stress can all put your at a greater risk of skin cancer.

With all of these risk factors, it makes you think what areas are best, and worst, for your skin. Lucky for those living in El Paso, we were voted the best city for your skin. Wallethub took into account that "the rate of skin cancer is low, the air cleaner, the sun kinder, and treatment more accessible." The site took the 150 largest U.S. cities and used 17 different measurements to decide which were the best and the worst cities. Texas cities took the top 3 spots with El Paso at 73.21, San Antonio at 69.25 and Austin with 67.18. El Paso had the fewest incidents of melanoma per capita, with San Antonio and Austin taking two more spots in the top 5.
