El Paso Distributes Free Sandbags For Monsoon Flooding Prevention

City officials are giving away free sandbags to help residents prevent monsoon flooding.  El Paso Water Utilities is distributing the free bags starting today at five locations throughout the city.  New locations have been established for residents on the east and west sides of the city.  Distribution locations remain the same for residents of the lower valley, northeast and central city.

Federal agents are searching for a wanted felon in El Paso.  U.S. Marshals say they're looking for 57 year old Javier Martinez, who is currently on parole for robbery and assault.  Authorities say Martinez cut off his ankle monitor on June 29th and should be considered a danger to the community.  Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to contact police.

Immigrant Children Given Hepatitis A Vaccine

Around 250 immigrant children have been given an adult dose of a hepatitis A vaccine.  It happened at a Texas detention facility.  U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials say no adverse reactions had been reported as of Saturday.  ICE officials along with the Department of Homeland Security say they are investigating the matter.

Cruz Campaign Reports $51 Million Raised In 3 Months

Texas Senator Ted Cruz is doing well convincing donors to back his Presidential ambitions.  The Cruz campaign announced yesterday it has raised $51 million in the last three months.  The number includes about $10 million in direct donations to the Cruz campaign as well as money raised by his political action committees.  Cruz is battling with more than a dozen other Republicans for the 2016 GOP Presidential nomination.
