EPCON has been plagued by negative publicity since almost the beginning. Celebrities claiming they didn’t get paid, exhibitors saying they didn’t get what they were promised…celebrities denying that they were booked even when there were posters saying they WERE!

The announcement was made yesterday on El Paso Comic Con’s Facebook page. Without giving any specific reasons for the cancellation, the post thanked fans and participants. So, amazingly, EPCON managed to go out without any controversy.

Unless you count the people asking if they would get their money back for pre-paid booths and tickets.
