Garbage Truck Crash Shuts Down Joe Battle Boulevard

Police say no one was injured in a garbage truck crash and hazmat situation that shut down a busy El Paso street.  The crash happened yesterday afternoon on Joe Battle Boulevard South at Interstate 10.  All lanes of Joe Battle Boulevard were temporarily closed down while crews cleaned up the scene, which involved an unidentified hazmat spill.  There's no word yet on what caused the crash.

El Paso Children's Hospital Ranked Best In Newborn Screenings

State health officials are recognizing El Paso Children's Hospital for its newborn screening.  The Texas Department of State Health Services has ranked El Paso Children's Hospital as the best overall in newborn-screening performance for May.  Newborn screenings test infants for more than two-dozen rare disorders.

Forbes Richest Person In Texas Is Alice Walton

Forbes magazine is out with its newest list of the richest person in each of the 50 states.  In Texas, that person is Alice Walton of Fort Worth.  She's an heir to the fortune from Wal-Mart that was founded by her father in 1962.  She currently serves as chairman of the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art with her net worth said to be in excess of $36 billion.

Texas Gas Prices Not Budging

There's no change to report in the price of gasoline across Texas.  It's holding steady in most locations and didn't budge at all overnight statewide.  Triple-A says the average price of regular across the state is holding at $2.61 a gallon.  That's 6 cents higher than a week ago, but far lower than the 346 average recorded a year ago.

Dez Bryant Tweets: Where Is My Security?

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant is speaking out on Twitter about being franchise tagged by the team.  Bryant tweeted "13 mil is cool, but where is my security?"  He is referencing his one-year, $13 million franchise tender the Cowboys placed on him for this season.  The 26 year-old and his representatives reportedly want a long-term deal, and the sides have until July 15th to agree on one.  The outspoken wideout led the NFL with 16 receiving touchdowns in 2014, and has compiled over 54 hundred yards receiving in 5 seasons with the 'Boys.
