El Paso Border Patrol Agent Arrested for Sexual Assault of a Child

Luis Angel Lozada, 29, a Border Patrol agent from the El Paso sector, Ysleta station has been arrested by the El Paso Police Department for sexual assault of a child.

The Border Patrol released this statement:

On Friday, March 06, 2015, a U.S. Border Patrol Agent assigned to the El Paso Sector was taken in to custody by the El Paso Police Department.  The U.S. Border Patrol takes every allegation of misconduct seriously. The El Paso Sector will cooperate fully with the investigation. The U.S. Border Patrol understands its responsibility to maintain the trust of the community in which we serve and does not tolerate any activity by any of its personnel that may jeopardize that trust.

Lozada has been placed on administrative leave. He's been with the Border Patrol since 2009.
