An El Paso Band is getting recognition from Rolling Stone magazine as one of their Artists You Need To Know!

A ban that formed originally right here in El Paso, Texas is getting some BIG attention all thanks to Rolling Stone.

According to their bio on their Facebook,

Cigarettes After Sex is a pop group founded in El Paso, TX. Initially created in 2008 the group has included a number of dif...ferent members/collaborators since its inception. Released in late 2012, their latest EP, recorded in a stairway over the course of a night, draws upon the influences of the Trinity Session, Julee Cruise, Red House Painters & Cocteau Twins.

Since then, Cigarettes After Sex moved to the Bronx, NY and have continued making music and getting millions of hits on Youtube recently. The band has a sound similar to Beach House and XX, both of which are bands I adore listening to when I'm at home cooking, chilling out or getting it on.

In Rolling Stone, they described the band as "romantic" and "wistful" that "plays at a heartbroken crawl." They described their music as "melancholic, androgynous pop noir set in smoke filled darkness.” Funny, sounds like my dating life. Check out Cigarettes After Sex and see what all the talk is about.
