If your child loves to read and loves cats, this is a program you should look into!

The City of El Paso's Animal Services is having a Kitty Reading Program Orientation this Saturday! If your child loves to read and wants to start volunteering the Kitty Reading Book Club program is perfect.

Book worms and kitty lovers from 8-13 years old are invited to come to the Kitty Reading Program Orientation this Saturday, January 14th. During the orientation, the young volunteers will learn more about the program, as well as hands-on cat safety training. Volunteers will also learn how the program helps shelter cats and kittens with love, human interaction and more!

The requirements for the class include:

  • no cat allergies
  • loves reading and cats!
  • must be 8 years old to 13 years old, although a legal guardian must be present at all times during the program

The orientation will be hands on, so participants are asked to wear full length pants, no open-toed shoes, no dangling jewelry and there is a possibility of you getting wet! The class will be held at 5001 Fred Wilson Avenue in the VIP classroom.
