Heading to New Orleans for Mardi Gras? Yeah, us either.

But that's alright -- instead of getting trampled in the crowds, having your car stolen in the French Quarter, and getting shot on Canal Street, you can stay right here at home and let the good times roll!

The Q's Dubba G and Lisa Sanchez -- those poor creatures -- will be in the heart of El Paso's own Mardi Gras celebration in Union Plaza. They'll be slaving away, doing live broadcasts Mardi Gras day, Feb. 9, from 10 a.m to 7 p.m. Working for The Man every night and day, those two.

While they're out there, suffering, you can reap the Carnival benefits, starting by guzzling free coffee and donuts from Hillside Coffee with Mr. Garza. Then you can get a $5 lunch -- whether it's jambalaya, gumbo, or po' boy sandwiches.

Or, you can wait and have a liquid lunch with Lisa with $5 hurricanes, just like Marie Laveau used to drink. Live music starts at 1 p.m. -- and you can party inside or party outside. What the hell do we care?  The Garden, Dark Horse and 1914 will bring the music, helping you take the party late into the evening.

Admission is free starting at 10 a.m. At 5 p.m., the cover goes up to $5, and jumps to $10 at 7 p.m.
