The Michaelada Fiesta is an event where you can try all the variations of this delicious beverage and enjoy some great Mexican cuisine too!

On a hot summer day, Sunday Funday afternoon or to wash down some delicious tacos, Micheladas are a staple of El Paso life. Now the Michelada Fiesta is looking to bring some of the best Micheladas in the Borderland together for delicious new event.

The Michelada and Tacos Fiesta is happening Saturday, October 1st at Ascarate Park.

In case you've been living under a horrible, non-delicious rock, here's their description of what a Michelada is:

"A Michelada is a Mexican 'cerveza preparada' made with beer, lime juice, and assorted sauces, spices, and peppers. It is served in a chilled, salt-rimmed glass. There are numerous variations of this beverage throughout Mexico, Latin America and the United States. in the most basic sense, a Bloody Mary that uses beer instead of vodka…and from there, the similarities end. Much like its bloody cousin, the ingredients in a Michelada vary greatly and thus, the competition was born."

Personally, I'm a fan of the lime juice version of the Michelada, that has tons of ice, lime juice and salt with your favorite beer. Hopefully they'll have those there for me to enjoy as well!

The Michelada and Taco Fiesta is happening, Saturday October 1st. Gates open at 3 p.m. and the festivities are until 10 p.m for those 21 and up. Lawn chairs and umbrellas are welcome so you can sit in comfort at the event! There is a $5 parking fee to get into Ascarate Park.  No outside drinks, pets, guns or drugs will be allowed on the property.
