On Monday, the Downtown Management District held their inaugural mistletoe kiss event. If you head Downtown, you will see El Paso Street from the base of the international bridge to the Arts Festival Plaza with holiday decorations, including mistletoes the organization hopes to become an El Paso holiday tradition. While I do see this idea as an incredibly cute social media trend, the newly single me is very bitter. Can I bring my cat?

As the holiday shopping season begins, tons of people will be walking the streets of Downtown El Paso, enjoying the shops, restaurants and decorations. The DMD is encouraging shoppers to take a second to stop underneath the mistletoe, you will find hanging around the holiday banners, and take a photo of your own #EPMistletoeKiss. Congrats to you lovely couples who will get to take amazing photos of your happiness, and then post it on social media to share your love. What about us lonely people? Now, I will have to be reminded of how lonely I am during the holidays, with all these photos on my
Facebook and Twitter news feed. One other fellow El Pasoan feels my pain:
