So every year (or however often it actually happens), I see people posting like crazy about "Talk Like a Pirate Day" and that we should all change our Facebook language to Pirate. I've played with the languages many times, and will occasionally go to pirate or upside-down for a bit for fun. I try to switch to pirate for the holiday, it's just funny to see how things change.

Does anyone else actually do it, or is it just something fun to post about?

Here's a screenshot of my page, so you can see that I DO switch:

There seem to be a bunch of "Pirate Translators" on the web as well, but they don't really do much. Here's the same paragraph, as translated by a few of them:

Does anyone actually change their Facebook speak to scurvy pirate on speak Like A scurvy pirate Day? I be one 'o them dorks that switches them around randomly just fer a ruckas.

The pirate speaks,"Does anyone actually change their Facebook language t' pirate on Talk Like a Pirate Day? I be one o' those dorks that switches them around randomly just for fun."

I guess if you want to talk like a pirate, you have to buckle-down and really do it yourself. There don't seem to be any shortcuts.

Matey.
