A special Crisis Text Line exists for people experiencing depression, emotional pain or thoughts of suicide.

If you, or someone you know, needs help - text 741741. There, a live and professionally trained crisis counselor will begin to text back and forth offering advice, a friendly ear or contact information for other, professional help.  According to their website:

Crisis Text Line is free, 24/7 support for those in crisis. Text 741741 from anywhere in the US to text with a trained Crisis Counselor. Crisis Text Line trains volunteers to support people in crisis. With over 42 million messages processed to date, we’re growing quickly, but so is the need.
