We do everything bigger here in Texas, including saving our animals!

The floods that have plagued Texas in the past few weeks have made the Trinity River swell up and engulfed the 1,800 acres of land surrounding it to a measly 50 acres of dry land. The cows that usually call that land home have been living in some parts in the flooded lands. The problem with this is not only does it make it difficult for the cows to feed, but there are alligators that call the Trinity River home. Due to the storms in the area, the river is suspected to continue to rise. Fearing for the cows safety,  a group of local cowboys and Texas law enforcement joined forces to help the animals travel to safer land.

At abut 7 a.m. Sunday morning, the group began herding the livestock and traveling the 70 miles to dry land. Residents of nearby Dayton, Texas lined the highway to watch the spectacle as it passed. The larger animals were steered towards a rail yard where they will be kept until the water levels go down. Smaller animals that would not be able to travel through the high waters were taken in airboats to the rail yard location. Check out the video above and see how awesome Texans are, having cowboys once again save the day!
