It's been three years in the making, but the Country Club Road project is finally complete! Westsiders who have had to take alternate routes since 2012 can now go back to using Country Club Road. During the height of construction, my travel time to the El Paso Country Club was 17 minutes. Now that the project is complete, it takes me 3 minutes from my house to EPCC. Seriously.

Oh, also, we found out what happened to the Country Club Place art project that went up and was then removed within a few days. It turns out the artist is now suing the city for $500,000 for the eyesore, I mean, "art" that she was paid $70,000 to create.

Here is the art project:

So, just to be clear: We pay an artist 70 grand to create a piece of art. It's so ugly, it's removed after just a couple days. Then, the artist sues the city for half a million for destroying her art. According to my math, we're potentially $570,000 in the hole for a art project that no one wanted, no one liked and was only up for less than a week. Why are our property taxes going up, again? Oh, yeah, because we pay for ugly art that we throw away.

Oh, also, I just heard that school buses and really large pick-ups can't squeeze through the roundabout without going up on the curb. Nice.
