For the first time in over a decade, the FBI has made it a requirement that all of its agents take and pass a physical fitness tests.

A lot of their work, by their own admission, is desk work so how fit the feds were had taken a backseat.  FBI director James B. Cooney brought back the physical tests because:

“The lives of your colleagues and those you protect may well depend upon your ability to run, fight, and shoot, no matter what job you hold.”

There are no height or weight requirements, only an ability to do the following things:

  • Sit-ups.  35 or more in 60 seconds for women, 38 or more for men.
  • 300-meter sprint.  Women must finish in 64.9 seconds or less.  Men in 52.4 seconds or less.
  • Push-ups.  No time limit here, you just do as many as you can until you cannot do anymore.  Minimum 14 for women, 30 for guys.
  • 1.5-mile run.  Women must finish in 13:59 or less, men in 12:24 or less.

Except for the times called for on the running, I'd be ok.  How about you?  Can you pass those tests?
